| GOD SAVED ME FROM DEATH
My name is Sergei. I am 17 years old. I testify about a miracle that God has performed for me: God saved me from death. Here’s how it happened.
I felt bad: nausea and dizziness. The vomiting blood started. An ambulance was called. I was brought to the intensive care with a diagnosis of acute bleeding from the gullet. I have a hereditary disease called von Willebrand disease.
Von Willebrand disease is a genetic blood disorder characterized by episodic occurrence of spontaneous bleeding with a sharp increase in the bleeding time and reduced content of coagulation factor VIII (FVIII). The disease is inherited as autosomal dominant type.
Doctors did everything they could (injections, infusion of plasma, blood transfusion), but all this didn’t help me. The bleeding did not stop. On the fourth day, the state of my health got worse: the pressure began to fall, hemoglobin concentrations decreased to 41 g/L. Doctors from the municipal hospital said that they could do nothing, so they called a special team of doctors from the regional centre. Regional doctors after examination said that my condition was critical and I couldn’t be operated on because the bleeding didn’t stop. They confirmed the earlier diagnosis of:
- Von Willebrand Disease – angiohemophilia
- Acute bleeding from the gullet – Severe posthemorrhagic anemia.
My parents gave their consent for me to be transported to the regional hospital. I was transported by a specially equipped car “Ambulance” with siren lights on. In the intensive care of the regional hospital’s hematology department, the bleeding didn’t stop in spite of treatment. The doctor told my parents that they stayed at the hospital, because I could die at any moment. I knew that my life together with my blood was going out of me. So I and my parents turned with a request to the minister of the Kovel Church that the church would pray for my healing. My heart was inclined to be a believer, and I prayed and asked that God would show mercy to me. On Sunday, we fasted and prayed for my healing too, joining the prayers of the Kovel Church. The same Sunday, when the Kovel Church prayed for me, I felt a feeling of lightness and pleasantness in my heart. The bleeding stopped. I felt well. Hemoglobin concentrations rose to 71 g/L., I started to take meals (three days before I did not eat or drink), started to walk.
Glory to God for His mercy to me, He saved me from certain death! Amen.
