| The Healing of Valentina Arkatova
I live in the town of Novomoskovsk in the Tula region. Our area is highly polluted by radiation. My mother and brother died from cancer. I was to share the same doom, but God prevented it in a miraculous way. I shall tell you briefly about some events in my life, which have to do with this healing.
In 1991, I started attending services of a Christian fellowship, but I did not agree with their views concerning the Spiritual Gifts. God impelled upon my heart revealing to me that everybody who has believed should be baptized with the Holy Spirit with THE SIGN – having THE GIFT OF SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES (languages) and have THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, about which we read in the Gospel. I spoke it out frankly, but they didn’t like it. When God baptized me with the Holy Spirit having granted me THE GIFT OF SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES (languages), they expelled me from their fellowship by means of voting (five people abstained).
Now I rejoice that the Lord led me in this way to His people in the Kovel Church. Here God revealed to me HIS WAY – THE WAY OF PEACE OF LOVE, THE WAY TO THE SALVATION of my soul too, and He also rescued me from certain physical death. By reading the Bible, I have learned that the signs appearing in our church, are a direct evidence that we have truly believed in God. That’s why the faith that is granted to us by God is accompanied by many signs that follow, exactly as it is written in the Gospel: “And He [Jesus] said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel to all creation [to all people]. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieves shall be condemned. And these signs will accompany those that have believed: in My name will they cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up snakes, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no wise hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. So then the Lord, after he had conversed with them, ascended into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen” (Mark 16:15-20). I would like to tell you in detail how God did a great miracle – He healed me from a terminal illness. At the end of the summer in 2004, oppressive symptoms began bothering me with weakness, high temperature, fever, fatigue and indisposition. More than two months passed that way. The state of my health became worse and worse. Every day my body temperature continued to be over 39°C, along with fever and headache. The pains were so severe that it was impossible to touch my head. It felt as if the roots of my hair were inflamed. A continuous painful cough with abundant phlegm gave me no rest, neither in the daytime nor at night. My lumbar spinal bones and kidneys ached. I was very weak and could not do anything without help, that’s why a sister in Christ permanently nursed me. She sheltered me in her house and took care of me very diligently and sincerely. May the Lord God reward her with mercy, because I don’t have anything to give her in gratitude.
A district doctor of the Kovel municipal hospital sent me for a medical examination and prescribed treatment, from which there was no effect at all. It went from bad to worse for me; shortwindedness, strongly pronounced skin paleness, and edema of the legs (feet, shins) and face appeared in addition to the above-listed symptoms.
In November, 2004, I went to the railway hospital doctors of the Kovel station. After inspection and examination, I was sent to the regional oncologic dispensary in Lutsk. As a result I was finally diagnosed: Multiple myeloma – stage III, secondary hypochromic anemia – degree of severity, nefroangiosclerosis, secondary hypertension of the ІІ degree.
Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer. Cancer is a group of many related diseases. Myeloma is a cancer that starts in plasma cells, a type of white blood cell. Signs of multiple myeloma include high calcium counts, anemia, fevers, renal damage, susceptibility to bacterial infection, impaired production of normal immunoglobulin, and osteoporosis. In multiple myeloma, plasma cells grow out of control and form tumors in the bone marrow. As the cancer cells grow in the bone marrow, they can cause pain and destruction of the bones (particularly in the back, the pelvis, ribs and the skull). If the bones in the spine are affected, it can put pressure on the nerves, resulting in numbness or paralysis. The disease grows progressively worse and has a lethal outcome – the person dies (Medical Encyclopedia).
Nefroangisclerosis – kidney sickness.
After having learned this diagnosis, I did not take the prescribed treatment, because I did not believe it could help. After all, though my brother had been treated in a hospital, he died from cancer in very bad state of health. I also rejected a bone marrow aspiration – I remembered that my mother had undergone the same puncture in Moscow and had died soon afterwards. In December, 2004, my health condition was very serious. There was a pronounced paleness, drowsiness, weakness, a cough with phlegm, pains in the thorax, shortness of breath, and my body temperature was 39 to 39.8°C. I lay in bed constantly. I had face edema so it was difficult to chew, for my jaws ached. My legs swelled and ached so much that I couldn’t put my slippers on, and my socks had to be soft so as not to press the skin. Pains made it impossible to touch my body. At the places where the lymph nodes are, and on the legs, from my soles up to the knees, my skin was dying off and fell off like fine sawdust. This process could be stopped neither by washing nor by wiping.
On my return from the regional oncologic dispensary in Lutsk, I immediately bought clothes for my funeral. But the Kovel Church minister came and told me that I should incline my heart to the healing through which God would be glorified. I did not believe in that.
Time passed, and in unbelief I impeded the healing until there was a prayer made for me during a Kovel Church service, so that God would increase my faith. At once a total change took place in my heart: it was as if I awakened from sleep and was horrified that I had not been attending services during the past half a year. I felt that I wanted to live, wanted to attend services of the believers, and I believed in the possibility of my healing. Although I did not have time to state that, to my great surprise, right away on April 23, the believers of the Kovel Church came to see me. I asked them to pray for my healing. During the prayer, GOD SAID that He was healing me. It was GOD’S WORD which did a miracle. Exactly at that moment when the Word was spoken, God’s Healing Power appeared. This Power filled me so much that the diseases left me! The high temperature which had lasted for more than 6 months and had been 39°C to 39.8°C, descended to normal. The coughing stopped, and I felt strength and renewal in my body. After one night, I was able to put my clothes on without any help and went to a service. I walked up the stairs myself, went into the hall where there was a service of the believers, and I went out with everyone after the end of the service of God. Those who saw me said that my eyes were not those dim ones of yesterday, which had not been able to see the light, but new ones filled with rejoicing.
On Tuesday, two days after my healing, I went to a meadow and picked greens. Going back, I met Nadia, a believing sister. She was highly astonished to see me walk and was glad about my healing.
The next Saturday, without any help I cleaned the floor in the house, put my things and bedlinen in order and took a hot bath. Thanks to God’s mercy, death had left of the house where I lived.
A short time after my healing, I found out that I could easily squat many times in series and easily stand up.
I am also glad that God healed me before many witnesses who now rejoice together with me.
Glory to the Great Holy God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit for everything! Amen!
